Coffee? Coffee for ya?

The coffee maker died today. Lights are on but no make the juice. Mr. Coffee has gone to the great landfill in the sky. Or Marriottsville.

So the universe is testing me yet again. There are few things I really need in life. Food. Shelter. Meds. Chocolate. And caffeine. I’m glad I’m not with virus, but this is very a serious situation. I’m being denied a basic human need here, and I don’t feel that the other humans in my compound comprehend the gravity of the situation. Or really care.

I need to think fast. I may have to drag out my goose-neck kettle with digital thermometer and go to plan B (my trusty Aero press - hey, that thing makes pretty good java). Or plan C (the French press in the cabinet - always a winner). Or it could be plan D (that Bodum pour-over thingy I just had to have - did I ever even use that?) Or the Euro plan E (Nescafé instant in the pantry - nostalgic but not great). Or there’s plan F (the stove-top moka Espresso maker I bought in Italy but haven't used since just after we got back from Italy almost 20 years ago). Could be plan G (the giant avocado-green percolator that serves 40 - that seems like a lot...). Oh geez I almost forgot plan H (the tiny one-cup coffee maker stored in the basement - but their definition of one cup is 1/8 of my cup, so...). Or cowboy coffee?? Ew. Packets??? Those things are an abomination. And they're probably expired.

This is so unfair.
